ABOUT IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS )is a world wide accepted test to prove the proficiency in English.It is targeted to help and assess the language ability of the candidates who aspire to move to an English speaking country or where it is accepted and applicable, in order to work, study and migrate. There are two different ways in which you can attempt the IELTS exams–paper based and computer based (which has been introduced lately). IELTS is managed jointly by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL, British Council and IDPEducation Australia). IELTS covers four language skills listening,reading,writing and speaking. The test takers receive individual scores for each module and the average score of these four gives the overall band score.
WHAT IS CEFR?
CEFR stands for Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It is an internationally recognised framework that describes language ability from A1-C2. A1 being basic and moving up to C2 proficiency.IELTS scores range from 0 - 9. IELTS teachers can map scores against the Common European Framework to help gauge a student's language ability.
