What is IELTS Listening?
IELTS Listening has four sections. Each section consists of 10 questions, and there are in total of 40 questions. Each segment is more troublesome than the one before it, so section one is most straightforward, and Section four is most challenging.

IELTS LISTENING

CONVERSATION
It will be a conversation among two speakers, concerning common subjects
MONOLOGUE
It is a monologue , which will be in an everyday social context
GROUP CONVERSATION
It will have two or more speakers having a debate or discussion.
ACADEMIC MONOLOGUE
It will always have only one speaker, which is usually contains academic vocabulary.
LISTENING QUESTION TYPES

Matching Statement
Read a list of statements and match statement to each question. You will have a box of alternatives and a list of questions. You are instructed to match a letter to a number.

Note Completion
Finish a paragraph by listening for and writing accurate words. You will need to complete a page of notes about an academic subject.

Labelling a Map
Label a map as a speaker talks about it. Analyze these questions more effectively by looking at prevalent problems related to the functional language used to describe locations and directions.

Form Completion
In this type of question, you will complete a form about an everyday topic in the first section of the test. Usually, the answers will be one or two words long and will be factual information, such as phone numbers, dates and times.

Flow Chart Completion
In this, you will complete a flow chart. A flow chart shows the steps to a process that has a beginning and an end.

Multiple Choice
You should listen to a recording and determine the best answer to the multiple choice questions. Sometimes you will have to choose more than one answer, so remember to read the direction carefully. .
Any of these question types may appear in any section. Not all question types will appear in an individual Listening test.

The goal of IELTS Listening section is to test your listening skills. Don't use practice tests to improve your score: it's not enough! They will help you to become familiar with the test, but won't much improve your listening abilities.

Listening module examines your comprehenshion skills. The examiner concern to know whether you are proficient enough to understand and answer the questions correctly. The score is determined based on the number of right answers. There is no penalty for wrong answers.
